Fr. John Ojaimi writes:

EDWARD S. KHOURI, age 83, passed away peacefully and has returned to his heavenly home on September 18, 2015 at home in Parma, Ohio surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Aramoun, Lebanon, and immigrated to the United States in the year 1955. In 1962, shortly after his arrival to Cleveland, Edward founded the iconic Middle East Restaurant in Cleveland, which he owned for over four decades. His warmth, generosity and love for all will be greatly missed.

Edward became a close friend to our beloved Metropolitan Philip of thrice-blessed memory, since he was the priest at St. George of Cleveland. Their friendship continued and strengthened until the day when His Eminence joined the community of the saints.

He also was a dear friend to the Right Reverend Bishop Antoun, and to many of our beloved clergy.

Edward's family, friends and his church were his life. He was loved by all who met him and he will be greatly missed. "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."

Eddie is beloved father of Claude (Yolanda) and Clifford (Rani); dearest grandfather of Dustin, Nino and Mario; great-grandfather of Angelo; son of the late Salim and Hind; dear brother of Camille (Miladi) (both deceased), Elaine Jacobs (Fred, deceased), Nawal Akar, Elie (Justine) and Dunia McPherson (David); beloved uncle, great-uncle and dear friend of many. He is also survived by Corrine, the mother of his children.

Edward funeral was held on September 21st at 11 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2587 W. 14 St., Cleveland, Ohio, and the interment was at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.

May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal!

V. Rev. Fr. John Ojaimi
